Services, categories and add-ons
Define what customers can book, group it so the form stays easy to scan, and offer priced extras that adjust the total and the slot length.
Services
A service is one bookable thing: a haircut, a 60-minute consultation, a follow-up check. Each service has:
- Name and optional description.
- Duration, which decides how long a slot the booking takes in a staff member’s calendar.
- Price, shown on the form and used for the booking total.
- Category, used to filter the service list.
- Staff who offer it. The form shows how many staff members are available for each service.
Manage services under Schedopia → Services.
Categories
Categories appear as filter chips at the top of the first step of the booking form, with an All services option. Use them to keep a long menu readable, for example Hairstyle, Facial, Spa, General. Manage them under Schedopia → Categories.
Add-ons
An add-on is an optional extra a customer can attach to a service, such as a beard trim on top of a haircut or a scalp treatment with a colour. Each add-on has its own:
- Price, added to the booking total.
- Duration, added to the slot length so the staff member’s calendar is blocked for the real time needed.
When a customer picks add-ons, the running appointment summary on the form updates the total and the availability search uses the combined duration. A 60-minute service with a 15-minute add-on only shows start times where 75 minutes are free.
Tip: Add-ons have been available since version 1.1.0. If you upgraded from 1.0, you will find them alongside services in the admin.
How it looks to customers
On step one, customers see service cards with the category label, name, duration, staff count and price per session. Selecting a service and any add-ons moves them to the time step. See the quick start for the full flow.
